On Wednesday night, the National Honor Society students traveled to Superior to Grace Community Evangelical Free Church to fill shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child project. Operation Christmas Child collects shoeboxes filled with different toys, clothes, school supplies, and hygiene items and delivers them to children in need across the world to demonstrate God’s love to them. These shoeboxes were split between boys and girls. The boxes that we helped fill will be sent to all different countries. It was a very worthwhile experience and one that we look forward to every year.

In Intro to Business we did a taste test in order to determine the differences between brand-name and generic products. As a result of this experiment, we learned that it depends on what product you are looking at. We did many different items for the purpose of seeing whether or not the extra money was worth it. For example, there’s no visible difference in brand-name and generic crackers, wafer cookies, or water. Meanwhile, the Poptarts, and chocolate chips had an enormous difference in taste. This taught us we can save quite a bit of money by buying generic products and a lot of times, there really isn’t much of a difference in taste.

Today students received the results of the Eileen's Colossal Cookie Halloween Decorating Challenge. Students were to draw a Halloween picture and Eileen's chose the winning designs. Students with winning designs were rewarded with large cookies with their images on it. The results are as follows:

CONGRATULATIONS to Caden Culbertson who received the Believers and Achievers award. This is a state-wide award program that recognizes Nebraska’s future leaders. To be eligible, seniors must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. They also look at NSAA activity participation, school involvement, community involvement and an essay that the applicant submits.
This is quite an accomplishment as only 48 students were selected out of the 635 applications received from 235 different schools. These 48 students will be recognized at NSAA State Championships throughout the 2025-26 activities year and on a poster sent to all NSAA member schools.

Recovering from Homecoming Week is a real thing, and some posts slipped through the cracks.
This year's homecoming class representatives included freshmen Stella Williams and Kade Peters, sophomores Ella Skinner and Monte Hajny, and juniors Paige Huston and Jace Hoelting.
Our homecoming queen candidates included seniors Raylene Miller, Harley Beale, and Natalie Jacobitz. Our homecoming king candidates included seniors Owen Smiley, Nathan Pofahl, and Caden Culbertson.
On October 10th, last year's homecoming royalty, joined by kindergarten crown bearers Lindy Faimon and Case Bargen, walked up the football field to crown this year's homecoming king and queen. The student body voted and our 2025 Homecoming King and Queen were Harley Beale and Caden Culbertson.
Congratulations to our newly crowned royalty!
