Yesterday, several journalism students traveled to Norfolk for the Class C State Journalism Awards Ceremony. Lawrence- Nelson qualified and placed in the top 8 schools for the Yearbook Theme Development category. This was for their work in last year's yearbook, "Building for our Future." The students and Mrs. Haba were anxious and excited to see so many places being called up while they were still waiting. As second place was called, the group lost it in excitement... as they had placed first again for the second year in a row.
Sophomores Tiffany Gonzalez-Gamez, Riley Haba, Natalia Wehrman, Paige Huston, Kynnedy Beale, and Epiphanae Lowery (not in attendance) brought home another gold medal for the L-N Journalism Staff.
We are so excited to see all of their hard work recognized!

Career Quest presentation day is tomorrow! If you're able, come to the high school and see what our juniors and seniors have been doing out in their career fields this semester!

Come join us for an evening of recognition of the great things our Raiders have accomplished!!

Some good, friendly competition (or maybe at times even not so friendly) is sometimes just what a person needs. That's what the Pizza, Puzzle and Pop provided tonight for the high school students. AND THE WINNER IS: The team of Cassidy Huston, Vali Koehler and Sawyer Cox came in first putting the 400 piece puzzle together, eating a large pizza and finishing 3 pops each with a time of 1 hour, 24 minutes and 24 seconds Coming in a close second was Bayleigh Bohlen, Josie Hajny and Kara Menke, with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes and 10 seconds. It was such a good group of students who made the evening a lot of fun!!

The book fair is happening next week, May 5th-9th! Buy one, get one free sale!
